The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

What a Bick Sastard
Sean over at Omnium has footage of some bullshit coming from Par Robertson's mouth which is in bad taste and historically incorrect (He doesn't even know which Napoleon was in charge when the French were thrown out.
Yet Rush Limbaugh trumps Pat Robertson in the crass rubbish stakes as is evidenced here.
As the Reverend Spooner, late of New College Oxford, may have put it: what a cupid stunt that Lush Rimbaugh is

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain." It is not surprising to me that someone with his millions would look at the world his way. This is his shtick designed to make money and get publicity and it is working very well for him. He reminds me of Howard Stearn - shock is their shtick.
Did the comments of Danny Glover get any play in the UK. It seems that Limbaugh and Robertson get trashed regularly but leftists get their usual free pass.
On theology the comments of Robertson represent a traditional view of voodoo. This is not unique to Robertson as Muslims call a people named the Yezidi Devil worshipers as well.
For a balanced view of Haiti one could read Jared Diamond. That is of course unless some crank in the UK has found something libelous in
his writings as well.
I am a little skeptical about Limbaugh being quoted. Far left types have a history of inventing
stuff such as claiming he praised slavery. No doubt this looks bad but I have seen enough things quoted out of context to wonder. It looks bad, but I want to look at the entire transcript.
Haiti has benefited from a series of laws. Its refugees were granted a special section of the Immigration law known as HARIFA.
They have been granted TPS and I may be sent to help out.
Haiti is a misunderstood country that can and should be studied without baggage.
Ah, Jams,
Keith Olbermann found some proper words for these gentlemen.
As for Pity Lips and the Wizard: Actutally, more disturbing than what idiots like Limbaugh and Robertson babble is that so many people not only listen to them but believe (sic!) what they say.
Ah, sorry! Pouty Lips, of course.
Sean, And these same people believe in the tooth fairy. In this case, I don't think there are very many people who will listen to him in this case by not donating to Haiti emergency relief. If I'm wrong, then that is just beyond the pail.
Those two are wayyyyyyyy off the charts when it comes to stupidity.
I don't get the shock unless the purpose is simply to piss off. I don't want to know a person who agreed with Limbaugh on this. Sadly I am sure there are more of them than we would wish
Oh poor hard done by Limbaugh Beakerkin. If he didn;t spout vile shit like that I would call him a cupid stunt.
Sean, Pouty. I would hope and pray that the number who actually believe this shit are few and far between. That they are few and far between is somethig I doubt.
It surely sounds like it Kay!
As I suggested elsewhere, and as per a Saturday Night Live sketch of many years back (at least, I THINK it was SNL), they both need to have bologna stapled to them, then be lowered into a tank of piranhas. I additionally suggest they be doused in Bactine just prior to the piranha-dunking.
Stupid, evil men.
Stunt? You mean "runt", do you?
Oh well, he is both, probably...
Haha Snoopy, I think Spooner got it right!
Wow Knatolee that is extra vicious!
