The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

Wow, that is an interesting piece of art :)Happy WW!
Beautiful! I would love to visit Paris one day, and in particular this cemetery.
It is not so much the statue that catches my eye, it is your technique of using your camera that I find really interesting.... You must tell me the trick... :)
I like the effect you've laid on here. It's a lovely shot, Jams. As they all are...
That's a beautiful work of art. Happy WW.My entries:Moms... Check Nyo Yummy-as-can-be
Great shot! Happy WW.
Is the statue from a cemetery?
Great shot!Mine are here and here.
That's such an expressive statue. Very life like.
You have created a wonderful mood with your treatment of that photo :-)
It's certainly impressive. I think I told you I once went round Père Lachaise trying to find Piaf's grave and swearing because people don't die in alphabetical order?
Thanks everyone.Modern Mom the statue is in teh Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. It is a place that you can spend hours in!nevin the photo has been manipulated. I played aroudn with light balance, brightness, contrast and colour saturation. Basically I darkened and washed out the colour to make it look a little more melancholy
what an amazing statue. Happy WW!
Such drama and beauty in that face.
Wow...very intense! Happy WW:)
I really love the lighting in that photo. well done.happy WW!
Beautiful and expressive. There is something that just seems more familiar and less remote about her than some of the other statues I see.
Nice light in this shot.
Whatever your editions, the result is amazing and very melancholic!
Very well captured
