The title of this blog comes from a Gaelic expression -"putting on the poor mouth"-which means to exaggerate the direness of one's situation in order to gain time or favour from creditors.

They were certainly brave men. You can see it in theur facesIt's one of the 12 casts made of Rofin's Burghers of Calais statue. It commemorates an event in the Hundred Years War.
